Welcome to Metabola! This Privacy Policy explains how Metabola LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Metabola mobile application. We are committed to transparency and safeguarding your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our AI-powered tracking services, we collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a secure password.
• Health and Profile Data: To personalize your experience, we collect your weight, calorie goals, and meal history.
• User Content: We collect the images (food photos) you upload within the app for tracking purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly to provide, maintain, and improve the Metabola app. Specifically, we use it to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Analyze your food photos to provide estimated nutritional data (calories and macronutrients).
• Track your progress against your established goals.
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

3. Third-Party Data Processing

We rely on trusted third-party services to ensure the app functions securely and effectively. We do not sell your personal data.

• Supabase: We use Supabase for our database management, secure file storage, and user authentication. Your account data and meal history are stored securely via their infrastructure.
• Google (Gemini API) & OpenAI (ChatGPT API): We use Google and OpenAI to analyze the food photos you submit. Your images are sent to these services solely for the purpose of returning nutritional analysis to you, and are processed under those providers' API terms. We do not use your photos or personal data to train AI models.

4. Other Ways We May Disclose Information

Apart from the service providers described above, we may disclose your information only in the following circumstances:

• Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process (such as a subpoena, court order, or government request), or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Metabola LLC, our users, or others.
• Business Transfers: If Metabola LLC or the Metabola app is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Website Waitlist

If you sign up for our launch waitlist at metabola.io, we collect your email address solely to notify you about the availability of the Metabola app and related launch updates. Waitlist submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, our website hosting provider. You can unsubscribe or request deletion of your email at any time by contacting us at the address below.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly within the Metabola app settings at any time. Upon initiating deletion, your account information, health data, meal history, and uploaded content will be removed from our active databases. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before they age out and are permanently deleted.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable law to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (including full account deletion), or by contacting us at support@metabola.io. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

8. Security

We implement reasonable and standard security measures, including those provided by Supabase, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no electronic transmission or storage method is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

Metabola is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via the email address associated with your account.
